Founded in Sydney, Australia in 1932 by Jacob Bloch, Bloch is a pioneer in the technical dance market.
Since its inception, the renowned footwear brand has produced hand-made ballet and pointe shoes for ballet dancers worldwide.
Arriving in Australia in 1931 at the height of the Great Depression, Russian-born Jacob Bloch began his career making shoes by hand in the workshop where he lived. In his spare time, Bloch enjoyed watching ballet and propelled his craftsmanship to higher levels by visiting many dance studios.

Over the past 75 years, Bloch has established a reputation for excellence, making the brand one of the most trusted in the industry.
Recently Bloch entered an exciting new period of innovation and design with the creation of fashion footwear, following the requests from customers to create street-ready shoes. As a result, Bloch partnered with distinguished Australian designer Jozette Hazzouri to launch its first ladies’ line in Spring/Summer 2008.
