Liaqat Rasul’s love of textiles is the driving force behind his unique and beautifully crafted designs.
Having studied fashion in the UK and later working alongside high-skilled tailors in India, Liaqat established his own fashion label, ‘Ghulam Sakina’, in 1999.

Now based in both London and New Delhi, the clothing is imagined, researched and styled in London. Liaqat also works alongside highly skilled crafts men and women in New Delhi experimenting with fabrics in order to continuously develop new techniques.

The garments produced therefore focus on touch, longevity and intelligent colour, using everything from subdued pastel hues to super-saturated bold tones.

All garments are ethically sourced and produced in india. Production methods include hand dying, block & screen-printing, hand knitting, enzyme washing, hand embroidery & hand sewn finishes. As such it can take up to 30 hours to produce a single Ghulam Sakina piece.

It is this meticulous attention to detail which gives each and every piece of Ghulam Sakina clothing its luxurious, tactile quality.
